hey, how was your day? it’s no surprise to anyone that the feeling that time is getting faster keeps getting more obvious. if you took a bit of time out of your routine to read this, that already shows you’re ahead of the curve. lately we always have the habit of trying to be productive, multitask and make good use of every drop of our time. it’s not wrong, but it also comes with a serious problem.

many times in this process we’re being directly influenced by media (or whatever it is) in almost every task we do. work? you’re probably using your phone or computer. gym? you’re probably listening to music. sleeping? some people have the habit of falling asleep to ASMR or things like that. it’s not abnormal, but it has a serious downside deep down.

we’re always working and working, but we never give ourselves a break. we never find ourselves in a situation where you’re out at night on the street, alone, sitting, just thinking about who you are. we never take real time to relax (beyond sleeping) — we’re always doing something created by other people.

take your time to reflect, and this time for real. this article is short not because i didn’t have time to write, but because i don’t need to complicate something as simple as discovering who you yourself are.

if we’re always being influenced, at what point are we being ourselves?
